Generally, you should get up to 8 hours of sleep for good health. This is something we all know. However, due to various reasons, we are not able to sleep on time and wake up on time, so various health problems can be created, so we have to sleep and wake up according to our age. If you get less than 5 hours of sleep, it will have a negative effect on the functioning of your brain. This problem can also occur when you sleep more than necessary. According to research, the amount of sleep varies in people of all ages.

Newborns to 3 months of age group – These babies need 14 to 17 hours of sleep every day. It is important to get at least 11 to 17 hours of sleep. But even more than 19 hours of sleep can hinder a child’s brain development.

4 months to 1 year age group – 4 months to 1 year old children need 12 to 15 hours or at least 10 hours of sleep. Similarly, more than 18 hours of sleep can be dangerous for them.

11 to 14 hours of sleep is considered good for a child in the age group of 1 to 2 years. Sleeping more or less is not good for children in this age group. 3 to 5 year old age group – 10 to 13 hours of sleep is considered good for children in this age group. Similarly, sleeping less than 8 hours or more than 14 hours can be harmful for them.

6 to 13 years group – 9 to 11 hours of sleep is considered good for children in this age group. Less than 7 hours of sleep or more than 11 hours of sleep is harmful for them.

14 to 17 year old group – 8 to 10 hours of sleep is considered good for 14 to 17 year old age group.

18 to 25 year old group – 7 to 9 hours of sleep is beneficial for 18 to 25 year old group. But more or less than that can be harmful.

26 to 64 year old group – 26 to 64 year olds also need 7 to 9 hours of sleep. It helps to improve mental health as well as efficiency.

Above the age group of 64 years – 7 to 8 hours of sleep is considered good for people in the age group of 64 years. As you grow older, your sleep needs will decrease. But sleeping less than 5 hours or more than 9 hours of sleep at this age is also considered harmful to health.
